INAUGURAL INDUCTION CLASS OPEN TO PUBLIC NOMINATIONS

The newly created Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame (HSHOF) has announced the official public nomination process of the 2010 Inaugural Inductee Class.
HSHOF Mission
Strive to celebrate and promote athletes, teams, coaches, officials and builders who have achieved the highest standards of excellence while representing Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and to recognize those whose contributions have been exemplary in the promotion of sport, and current athletes who are achieving significant standards.
Nomination Process:
The General public may nominate teams, coaches, officials, builders of their choice by filling out the form at www.hamiltonsportshalloffame.com, outlining why in their view a nominee is deserving of consideration; The nomination process will run until March 5, 2010, inclusive. Hard copies of nominations with associated support may be mailed to Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame, c/o 39 Benvenuto Cres., Hamilton, ON, L9B 2J8
Hall of Fame Criteria:
Candidates must be a resident of the City of Hamilton or have been a resident (defined by current boundaries) for a significant period of time, or have represented Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Candidates may be an individual athlete, coach, builder (including media), team, or entity
The Candidate must have demonstrated superior athletic performance or contribution at the provincial, national, or international level.
Selection Committee Applications still being accepted:
The HSHOF Selection Committee application process remains open until February 5, 2010. This committee will be charged with selecting the first inductees into the Hall, from nominations made by the general public. Only successful Selection Committee candidates will be confirmed by February 17, 2010, and must be prepared to begin their duties immediately. Selection Committee members must be prepared to serve two year terms. Only successful applicants will be contacted.
