Search your attic, and garage, your basement and your closet and see if you have some Hamilton sports memorabilia that you would like to donate to the Hall for possible future display or for the Hall’s reference library.
The Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame is now accepting items.
We’re looking for:
– Items relating to our inductees.
– Items relating to special events in Hamilton’s Sports history, such as programs, photographs etc.
– Items relating to Hamilton sports teams, past and present, such as programs or sports memorabilia.
Items donated to the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame become the property of the HSHOF and will be safely stored by Fluke Transport/Fox 40.
Items that have been donated recently to the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame include a referee’s jersey worn by Bill Friday in the World Hockey Association and a game program from the 1925 Hamilton Tigers against the Montreal Canadiens.
The 2012 Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame induction dinner will be held at Carmen’s Banquet Centre on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Tickets can be purchased at Hutches at the Beach, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats office, United Trophy or through the Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame website at www.hamiltonsportshalloffame.com.
The 2012 induction class includes: Ed Beattie, boxing (athlete); Jake Gaudaur, football (athlete/builder); Doug Harrison, basketball (builder); Florence Harvey, golf (athlete/builder); Robert (Bobby) Kerr, track (athlete); John McGrane, soccer (athlete/builder); Angelo Mosca, football (athlete); Jack Pelech, (builder); Chris Rogers, horse racing (athlete).
