Pat has done it all in hockey. After his junior career with the Hamilton Tiger-Cubs, he played nine NHL seasons and over 600 games with Toronto, Vancouver and Atlanta, before spending over 20 years as a coach and/or general manager. A two-time NHL Coach of the Year, he also led Team Canada to the 2002 Olympic gold medal and a 2004 World Cup Championship and both the Under 18 and Under 20 World Championships. He sports two Memorial Cup titles as a player with Edmonton Oil Kings in 1963 and as an owner of Vancouver Giants in 2007. The Parkdale Arena was re-named in his honour. A Member of the Hamilton Gallery of Distinction, Pat also has an honourary Doctor of Laws Degree from McMaster University.
